The BCMG Eastern Bluebird Trail was relocated to the Bicentennial Greenway Park on November 3rd, 2022. We want to "THANK" the City of Maryville for allowing us to place our bird trail at this location. We were assisted by Darrel Pharris, City of Maryville Grounds Dept and William "Bill" Hartman, Valley Chapter Bluebird Society. A BIG Thank You for their guidance.

There is public parking on East Harper for easy access or if you visit the library, cross the bridge to the Greenway.

The nesting boxes will be the home for Eastern Bluebirds, Wrens and Tree Swallows. These are 'endangered' native birds as well as Titmice, Chickadees and Nuthatches due to their loss of habitat. Because they are 'endangered' they are on the Federally Protected list. This means that their active nests cannot be removed or destroyed until the young have fledged. The nesting boxes will become their shelter during our fall and winter months.

Besides hoping to increase the numbers of these 'endangered' birds, we also hope to use the bird trail as an educational format for children/youth and adults in the care and maintenance of nesting boxes at their home/property. We encourage guests to contact our Project Coordinator to schedule a time to visit the bird trail. Our volunteers monitor the nesting boxes weekly April thru August, the nesting season.
